Lisa Knowlton
With over three decades of dedicated practice and study, Lisa Knowlton has been immersed in the path of yoga since 1994. Guided by a deep respect for tradition and an intuitive approach to teaching, her work is rooted in both extensive training and lived experience.
A significant influence on her journey is the late Janice Gates, founder of Yoga Garden in San Anselmo, California, and author of Yogini: The Power of Women in Yoga. As a mentor for over twenty years, Janice helped shape Lisa’s understanding of yoga therapy and inspired a teaching style grounded in trust, presence, and compassionate inquiry. Additional studies with respected teachers including Nischala Joy Devi, Richard Miller, and Sarah Powers have further informed their integrative and therapeutic approach.
Lisa has completed approximately 900 hours of advanced teacher training, including over 500 hours in yoga therapy. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance (2016), with academic research focused on the effects of yoga on depression and anxiety.
Currently, Lisa teaches at Montana State University, where they offer beginning yoga practices, focusing on individual needs. Her teaching emphasizes a holistic approach—supporting the physical body while also nurturing the energetic, emotional, and mental dimensions of well-being within the college life and beyond.
Through a blend of knowledge, intuition, and deep listening, Lisa Knowlton creates spaces where students are empowered to explore their own path toward balance, resilience, and inner connection.

Kam McGivern
Kam McGivern’s journey into yoga is rooted in both movement and mindfulness, shaped by a life that began in the wild landscapes of Alaska and continued through an arts-rich upbringing in Southern Oregon. It was there that Eastern philosophy, yoga, and meditation became foundational elements of her path—practices that felt less like something new and more like a return to something deeply known.
With over 25 years of personal practice, Kam has explored a wide spectrum of yoga traditions, including Kundalini, Bikram, Hatha, Ashtanga, and Yoga Nidra. Her studies have taken her across eight states and through diverse communities, enriching her perspective and deepening her respect for the adaptability and universality of yoga.
Kam began teaching in 2010 after earning her first 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification. Since then, she has been committed to creating classes that are accessible, grounded, and relevant to everyday life. Her teaching style emphasizes inclusivity and connection, offering students a supportive environment to explore their own practice at any stage of their journey.
Through a blend of experience, curiosity, and intuitive guidance, Kam holds space for yoga as both a personal exploration and a shared human experience—one that invites balance, awareness, and a sense of coming home.
In gratitude,
